Weather advisory following recent freeze

Insurance Ireland has issued the following advice to households about what to do if they have suffered property damage due to the recent freeze.

 

Insurance Ireland has issued the following advice to households about what to do if they have suffered property damage due to the recent freeze.

  • Households Buildings and contents insurance will cover damage caused by a freeze.
  • Insurers will usually pay for the cost of temporary repairs so please keep all receipts.
  • Insurer will also usually pay for the cost of alternative accommodation up to stated limits if the property becomes uninhabitable.

If something goes wrong in your home for which you have insurance cover, please contact your insurer directly.
