We invite you to read our 2020 Annual Report, which can be accessed at the link below.
In 2020, Insurance Ireland continued to proactively engage with our members, government officials, State Agencies and the media on key issues across Life, General, International and Health insurance, including the Reinsurance and Captive sector. We started development of our five-year strategy, which will help to define our key priorities moving forward; repositioned our committee and governance structure to better support our members; delivered more than 50 virtual engagements across a wide range of topics, which reached an audience of up to 2,500 people; and progressed our Diversity and Inclusion, InsurTech and Sustainable Finance agendas with the support of our councils, working groups and committees.
Although the Covid-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges for Insurance Ireland and its members in 2020, the Insurance sector has remained operationally resilient and continued to serve customers through the crisis. Going forward, we continue to face a big task in communicating the value of insurance and long-term savings on a sector-wide basis as Ireland experiences the ongoing fall-out of Covid-19 and this will be a key priority for us throughout 2021.
