Overview

We are delighted to invite you to our upcoming Cyber roundtable - Complex supply chains & regulatory environments - A focus on Third Party Risk & Privacy Operations Overview.  As supply chains become increasingly complex and sharing of critical and sensitive data with third parties and across borders becomes more prevalent, we explore the importance of robust third party risk management and privacy operations for the insurance sector.


William O'Brien, Director in PwC's Cyber and Privacy team will outline the evolving world of third party risk management, including the key regulatory requirements arising from DORA, NISD and the SEC. He will also share his experience and the technologies and processes you need to protect your business against evolving threats and increasing regulatory requirements. 

 

Stephen O'Keeffe, Privacy Director in PwC will outline some of the key trends in the Privacy space driven by the increasingly global and outsourced nature of business today. He will also speak about the impacts of emerging technologies, particularly Gen AI and the implications for organisations' Privacy Operations. We will be joined by an Insurance Industry expert.

 Florian Wimber, Director,

 Advocacy & Public Affairs, Solvency II Lead, Insurance Ireland

 

Florian Wimber is a regulatory affairs and advocacy expert in the insurance industry with more than a decade of experience in EU financial services and insurance regulation. Florian is the Director of Advocacy & Public Affairs of the representative body of the Irish insurance industry, Insurance Ireland, and its Acting Director of Communications. He joined the organization in 2018 as Head of European Affairs and International Insurance and established the association’s representation in Brussels, Belgium. 

Prior to his assignment with Insurance Ireland, Florian was Advisor to the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia where he was working on the establishment of social protection and the regulation of the insurance market. From 2010-2016 Florian was with the German Insurance Association (Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V., GDV) where he held different positions in Brussels and Berlin. Florian is a German national and holds a degree in economics from University of Cologne and Trinity College, Dublin. 

 

William O'Brien, Director,

 PwC's Cyber Security, Privacy & Forensics practice, PwC Ireland

 

 

William is a Director in PwC's Cyber Security, Privacy & Forensics practice with overall responsibility for Third Party Risk Management. William’s industry skills include GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) and Analyst (GCFA), PRINCE2 Certified, along with an honours degree in Computer Science from University College Cork.

 
William recently developed a Certificate in Technology Risk and Data Incident Management on behalf of Chartered Accountants Ireland and he is a regular speaker and guest lecturer on the topic of Cyber Security and Forensic Technology at the Institute of Bankers Certificate and Diploma in Compliance. He has also provided expert witness testimony in the Irish courts. 

 

Stephen O'Keeffe, Director,

Privacy & Data Protection, PwC Ireland

 

 

Stephen leads PwC Ireland's Privacy and Data Protection service, servicing global and domestic clients across Financial Services, Technology, Pharma and Public Sectors. Stephen helps clients to navigate the complex regulatory environment, to drive efficient and effective operations and with outsourcing solutions. 

Stephen is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and a Chartered Accountant who initially focussed on IT Risk, Governance and Compliance before specialising in Data Protection and Privacy. Stephen sits on PwC Ireland's multidisciplinary Trust in AI working group.
